Dear Dr. Smith:

For the past four years, I’ve shown my dedication to the profession of teaching through my use of differentiated lessons, meaningfully integrated technology and commitment to forming relationships with my students’ families.

I was excited to see your open Kindergarten teaching position on your district website. I would be a perfect addition to your staff as I am very familiar with Kindergarten curriculum after having taught it for three years. I have also spent two summers teaching reading and writing to Kindergarten and first grade students in my previous district’s Summer Extended Literacy Program. In a previous teaching assignment, I was a founding member of the school’s Family Involvement Team (FIT) and have always highly valued the relationships I form with my students’ families.

My qualifications include four years of elementary teaching experience, a Master of Arts Degree in Education, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Professional Education. I currently hold a Michigan Provisional Teaching Certificate with credentials to teaching all elementary grades, as well as a self-contained six through eighth grade classroom and six through eighth grade Mathematics and Social Studies.
