I have known I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I can remember playing school with friends and stuffed toys when I was a child. I started college at Western Michigan University in the fall of 2012 and my original major was not education, but I quickly found my way back to teaching and specialized in early childhood education. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Professional Education and earned endorsements to teach Preschool through fifth grade, self-contained sixth through eighth grade, as well as middle school Mathematics and Social Studies (6-8). I taught for two years in the Kalamazoo Public School district before starting my Master of Arts in Education at Michigan State University. In the MAED program I have been concentrating on Math/Science Education and Technology. I discovered a great passion for educational technology during my Master's program, so I decided to concentrate on earning an additional Certificate in Educational Technology. I will finish my master's program in August of 2016, and return to the classroom to teach Kindergarten shortly thereafer.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have two young daughters, ages 2 and 1. We also recently adopted a yellow lab puppy named Remy.
